Ceramic Figure of Nijinski

Colorful large figure 16.5" tall manufactured by Rosenthal and marked on the bottom Bavaria. This is an outstanding piece with very rich colors and detail. Signed C. Hotzer-Defanti. this pieces is said to depict the Russian dancer Nijinski and the Ballet Russe. This is a very famous piece, depicted in the ceramique Art Deco book by Edgar Pelichet. There is much gold and enamel coloring in the outfit and shows a little budda at his feet. Fantastic face and detail, circa 1925. A minor repair on the left arm, hardly noticeable, professionally repaired. What a beautiful piece.
