1930s Viennese Art Deco Serving Tray • CanelliItem #1219 This 1930s Art Deco Serving Tray is signed "Canelli" and it hails from the Argentor Metalworks in Vienna. As well, it is strongly reminiscent of the style of Austrian sculptor, Franz Hagenauer (1906-1986). It possesses a simple round chrome serving tray fitted with an anything-but-simple handle. A beautifully sculpted, ferocious ebony lioness with chrome tail and ears (and very pointy teeth) serves as the handle as she leaps across the tray and over the cocktails over and over and over again. The overall design offers a nice balance between textures and detail. From serving martinis to holding dinnerware/napkins, you'll find a multitude of uses for this tray and regardless of the use - you'll not want to let that leeping lion out of your sight! It is signed on the bottom of the tray - Canelli Argentor Vienna The Measurements: Click on the images below to see larger versions: |
