Cubist style Art Deco Eagle bookends

Item #1247 SOLD

This might have been the model for American Eagle, but since the piece was made in France and designed by Janle and signed in the metal, I think more of a study on the cubist styling of the bird. The piece has a naturally dark antiqued nickel patina using white metal with a beautiful beveled green marble and white veining running throughout. This eagle has not landed yet, but has an attitude like it will hover over your books with some authority. May have been designed by the famous Max Le Verrier who used Janle as one of his many pseudonyms.
