Original French Art Deco Statue signed Fayral ( Le Faguays) with lightItem #1489 SOLD Here is a wonderful original statue by Fayral (also worked under the pseudonym Guerbe and his own name Pierre Le Faguays). This is in remarkable original condition! It is shown with fabulous rose marble and original "brain" crackled glass globe. She is a lovely figure: a stunningly beautiful young woman with a short bob haircut (typical of the Roaring Twenties). She is nude to the waist with a draped skirt, The maiden in green patina is inspired from the Egyptian influence, like a hand maiden carrying water ( but in this case, a light). The piece is signed on the metal base "Fayral" and also bears the Le Verrier studio foundry stamp as well. What a piece! PIERRE LE FAGUAYS (FAYRAL) (1892-1935) Pierre Le Faguays was a best friend of sculptor Max Le Verrier and the "Le Verrier" foundry made most - if not all of Le Faguay's pieces. Fayral and Guerbe were 2 pseudonyms he also used and were both the family names for his mother and his wife. Measurements: Click on the images below to see larger versions: |
