Napier Dial a Drink Classic ShakerItem #1614 SOLD Here is the classic drink mix shaker. Of course like many great designs, has been copied, but this is an original one, circa 1935, in fact this one has its own patent number filed in 1932. Appears to invented by Leroy Haviland Fontan. The Napier company (from Meriden, Connecticut) was very busy during this time, figuring out more ways to fix "bathtub gin" or whatever concoction to encourage people to keep everyone drinking and on the up and up. Well today, we have not lost the art of drinking cocktails, but the forms to make them in do not hold a candle (or container) to this early days in the 1930's. This one is in great condition, restored and ready to go for maybe another 80 years! Measurements: Click on the images below to see larger versions: |
