Sabino Glass French Art Deco Iron chandelier!Item #1379 It is time to get back to these great French lights. This is an odd piece. Obviously a very vertical design, with original Fer forge quality, circa 1925 and outstanding design. The glass is signed Sabino, a bit hard to read (or hard to photograph) but trust me, its there. I love this glass and it certainly shows that great period when Sabino was doing some very original designs, showing the transition from curve to linear. His work at that time rivaled any French lighting and glass designer of the period. What makes this one so unique is the vertical treatment which is halted in air with a fiery ball of glass, certainly in no way typical One really need the right place to hang this, but if you've got it, then you must have it. Spectacular sculptural Art Deco light with tangerine glassItem #1378 I bet you have never seen this one before. European in origin, I was totally taken with this piece for many reasons, some more obvious then others. The over-all design is just breathtaking. This is not a production piece as indicated by the tremendous amount of detailing in the metalwork. Every piece, every angle has something to say. The repeated faces which also echo the carved arms, base and canopies. It is so sculptural, imagine having a piece like this hanging somewhere in your house and you get to look at these really wonderful details, in addition to giving you light. The tangerine color glass stepped tulip cups are also very special. They are really set off in contrast to the antique nickel finish. In addition to all of the above and adjustable chain which allows you to hang this piece and make it work in just about any setting. I can't say enough about it. You better get this one right away, because this is not your mother's slip shade lamp! Measurements: |

1930's French by Degue yellow/gold Geometric hanging chandelierItem #1325 A magnificent and rare 1930's French Art Deco ceiling fixture by the world-renowned cameo art glassmaker Degué. The fixture has clearly been cherished over the years and is in absolutely perfect condition. The yellow frosted glass "vasque" is hand-moulded from extremely thick pate de verre, and the quality and thickness of the glass can be judged by the fact that the glass alone weighs 6 lbs/3 kg. The shape and design of the glass are extremely eye-catching, and I have included several photographs of the fixture both lit and unlit that I hope do full justice to the detail in the design. The glass drops into a central dome at the base, and this is decorated with a striking geometric design of flowers and stars. All of this decoration is raised substantially in the moulding to create a wonderful three-dimensional effect. The upper edge of the glass is signed Degué and the inside rim is stamped with the model number, 1050. The fixture is suspended by the four gold chains and matching ceiling rose. The length of the chains is easily adjustable so that the overall drop of the fixture can be altered if required, and I can supply additional chain should the buyer wish. There are two light fittings above the glass vasque that take standard bulbs and the fixture is fully wired for use and in perfect working order. David Gueron, (Degué), founded his factory and showroom in Paris in 1926, which he called Verrerie D’Art Degué. Here he put his full attention on the designing and production of art deco luxury art-glass. Degué mainly produced vases, lamps and chandeliers, and his glass has become world-renowned and highly collectable because of the remarkable quality of the moulding and deep rich colours.
