A beautiful French dining table by LeLeu, circa 1930's. This table is of the finest quality materials and a unique design, crafted by the famous LeLeu. The table top is exceptional in its unique design of wood marcquetry. Other details include inlaid strips of brass, as well as decorative pieces applied to sections between the legs of the table. This suite quite simply is spectacular; an important set in its own right, as well as an investment in a work of art. It's very rare that I find any "signed" pieces of furniture, let alone pieces as beautifully designed and finely crafted as this dining suite. A spectacular dinning suite, from Italy, not something we see often in the Art Deco World. This set is very large and consists of two large buffets, a glass vitrine or china cabinet, table and 6 chairs. It has a very dynamic presence with incredible large original Bakelite handles on all of the doors and drawers. The set has been recently restored and looks great. These pictures really do not do it justice. The bases are all very elaborate with different layers of woods all stacked on each other in a very Italian way. For sale is a magnificent dining suite, with matching table at 60" X 42" with a matching insert to extend another 24," 8 fully reupholstered leather chairs (two with arms). One beautifully proportioned 1/4 round buffet at 60" like the dining table, has a major silverware drawer and additional storage doors on the side. The wood is quite exceptions with very exaggerated grain and color. The set is European in origin but has been completely restored. The lets on all pieces are a contrasting honey blonde color to the dark heavily grained wood.
