Exceptional Large Chest style HUMIDOR 100 years old!Item A. SOLD This is A HUGE CHEST LIKE humidor with the bottom half lined in milk glass. The initial cabinetmaker was second to none, It is all solid Mahogany with a middle section of walnut. The inside is white milk glass panels finished with a mahogany trim piece around every piece of milk glass. the top cover had the metal lining with that vent type of tin humidifier. We made a new bottom out of cedar, removed all the milk glass and the liner paper that is usually underneath. We made two 3' deep Spanish cedar trays to fit inside the Humidor. There is great attention to detail, with slatted bottom and beveled edges. A top quality large rectangle humidifier has been installed, nicely framed along large analog hydrometer. There are two brass carrying handles on the outside, tumble polished with a nice satin finish with a beautiful patina. The box itself is in outstanding shape no deep dents or scratches. Restored finish with 4 coats of semi gloss poly-varnish. This is piece is probably originally from around 1910-1915. Boxes of this quality and large size are very rare! Measurements: |
