| Presented is an exceptional collection of fashion designs from the House of Bernard, from 1907 to 1936. There are quill pen designs, and painting in watercolor. In general, each model has a name and is enriched with an ink sketch which presents the back of the outfit. These original works are executed with such finesse, that even the smallest detail is able to be appreciated. |

Maison de couture BERNARD & Cie was founded in 1905, and within a few years, achieved success, (The original address was 31. A venue de l'Opera, Paris). During Modes" regularly reproduced, in color, the designs of Bernard. These advertisements also appeared in Vogue. During the 1920's, his designs were also seen in "Le Jardin des Modes" in which only the finest designers were presented: La Maison de Bernard also was included in "Le Livred'Address de Madame" in 1927. La Maison de Bernard feached) he height of it's career during the 1920's and early 1930's, and ceased prodpction by 1936 -1937. |
