Very rare silver-plate WMF Modernist two bottle wine/champagne coolerItem #1608 Gosh these are about as rare as "hens teeth". The double or triple bottle wine cooler or champagne bucket. This is a particularly refined example made by the famous German company WMF (inscribed on the bottom). Notice the modernist design of the stylized zig-zag faceted shapes imbedded in the oval shape. Nice strong ebony handles also fitting extremely well with the over-all shape. The only thing missing here is the party and friends needed to make a very festive time with an unusually rare and festive double cooler champagne bucket. How cool is that? measurements: |

Art Nouveau WMF style bronzed silver table mirror, GermanItem #1586 Love these wonderful mirrors and this one has all these wonderful elements. The design is very Jugendstil, most likely WMF origin. It really shows that nice transition of Art Nouveau going into Art Deco. Newly silver-plated and restored. Also a new bevelled mirror ready to service you on your favorite vanity, dresser, piano or anywhere. Pay close attention to the wonderful metalwork, these do not come around very often. Fabulous WMF German silver-plate coffee service 1930sItem #1561 I think you must be ready to have a tea party now. A set like this is a real eye catcher. Nice Art Deco shape with faceted corners on a round shape. Of course solid wood Rosewood handles with a very pleasing reverse 7 handle and matching top. This one is ready to go into service. The set bears the marks of the WMF silver company, the initials of the famous German foundry " Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik", most often simply called WMF. It was founded in the 1853 as a partnership between Daniel Straub and Josef and Friedrich Schweizer, and in 1892 developed a special technique for silver plating in which the silver coating is of double thickness in any parts that will be exposed to greater wear and tear. This patented process is called "Perfect Hard Silver Plating". In 1910, under the art direction of Albert Mayer, WMF became famous for its Art Nouveau style and established companies for world wide exports in London, Warsaw and Vienna. Many pieces were sent to Argentina between 1910 and 1930, and it is likely that Harrods Department Store which opened in Buenos Aires in 1912 was one of the major importers of decorative pieces such as this tea and coffee set. The set consists of the following pieces: coffee, tea, sugar, creamer and tray all original. Measurements: |

Very unique etched glass vase with sun-god metal work jardiniereItem #1558 Very large and unusual detailed large glass vase with unique metalwork. Looks to be of German origin, the metal work is highly stylized and detailed. Ultra Modernist Art Deco Candelabras in new chrome finishItem #1557 A stunning and dynamic pair of Art Deco Candlesticks. The most modernist shape you could imagine and yet still be very simple and elegant. Each candlestick holds 5 candles and each candle is organized with detailed machined fittings. Spectacular Czech Art Nouveau DECO tile by RAKO with custom iron tableItem #1493 Here is the story, these are original tiles made in Czechoslovakia pre 1930's. I was able to buy 8 of them in Montevideo, Uruguay about 1.5 years ago where they had been saved from a building that was being demolished. From what I've learned Uruguay was a sort of haven for great European tile work pre world war 2. Some real preservation going on here. I took a special trip there from Buenos Aires just to pick these up as It is almost impossible to ship directly to Argentina (I regress on this point). I personally carried the 8 tiles back to Buenos Aires on a boat. These are the most spectacular tiles I've ever seen. They are totally deco with wild colors and very interesting to look at. Almost psychedelic. I had this table designed to hold the tiles, which have been set into the top and now make the most marvelous side table you could imagine. There is only ONE table available, (the other I am using, so don't even ask)! Rako is a company still doing business in ceramics, housing materials in Czech Republic, promoting their 125th year anniversary. Measurements: |

Art Deco original chrome and black marble consoleItem #1448 In case you can use them, I have two of these right now and they are completely original pieces. I purchased them in Belgium many years ago and have finally installed them. You can see how useful this could be. It cantilevers out from the wall and is supported by "newly chromed" supports both as legs going down installed into the wall, and also in the frame that supports the marble. Very clean, almost Bauhaus, almost mid - century but they are truly from the Art Deco period. The marble is black with some slight variations of white running through them. Find the right spot and you've got a winner. Measurements: |

We have been offering some outstanding iron pieces completed in a small work shop in South America. The challenge this time, since we had never done iron lighting like this, was also to find a master alabaster maker to come up with just the right artistry. This alabaster that has the beautiful amber aged patina and we certainly got we wanted. Most alabaster pieces your find that which are new, are about as white as a refrigerator. This one shows the dark veins and looks like its been sitting inside a home for 75 years soaking it all in "Hollywood Boulevard." Outstanding Mappin & Webb English Silver-plate Art Deco Champagne Ice BucketItem #1311 Presented here is a stunning example of Moderne Art Deco design executed in a quality that is very rare not only today but even during the Art Deco period. This is a very heavy triple silver-plate ribbed design (very 3 dimensional) bucket made in England around 1930. Certainly comparable to Tiffany or International Silver. Mappin and Webb is a company originally founded in Sheffield, England. The company is a noted firm of Silversmiths and formerly cutlery manufactures with roots back to 1774 when Joseph Mappin (snr) founded the firm. The company is now a retail jeweler, and Royal Warrant holder. The Firm was taken over by Asprey & Co. in the 1980s, but was sold later. Every detail is in place and the quality is outstanding. You only need to pick up a single piece to feel what I am talking about (both weight and balance together). Certainly comparable to any Christofle or Gallia French Art Deco service. All wood is dark solid rosewood and handles are fitted as one would expect from the best silversmiths of that period. In great original condition. Ready to be put into action without reservation. Look at the way the base is stepped to accommodate the fluted centers and yet both the coffee and tea pieces have unusually long handles. Obviously, someone meant to design this set as you can see.
