1940s French Art Deco Vases • Pair

Here we have a matching pair of beautiful nature-inspired French vases from the 1940s in the "Prima Vera" tradition. The generous bodies of the vases are light cream-colored and feature a crackle finish. There is a metallic gold band around the lips and also at the bases. The stylized floral designs on the vases are hand-painted with rare and unusual gold and silver metallic and copper colored glaze to offer a vibrant contrast to the background. They are signed "France".

This hand relief of Egrets, a kind of bird is a very unusual piece. It is very much in the style of Boch, but there is not marking on the bottoms and this technique is different from any of see. The piece has 7 Egrets surrounding the piece in different positions and there is a lot of detail on the outline of their body and so forth. The size is11" T X 8" W.
