Unique high quality original "Columbia" gramophone record-playerItem #1629 SOLD These are so much fun if you've never had or used one. This original record player was manufactured in England by the Columbia company circa 1930's and was exported to Argentina for the South American markets. This piece was sold at "Max Glucksmann on Florida street in Buenos Aires" It is a very high quality player in pristine original condition. The metal work is clean, and shiny. The machine's play "78" records which are quite available from classical, to jazz and pop recordings as early as 1920's -1950's. It require NO electricity, just a little turn of the handle. This machine is very sturdy and plays loud enough to fill a small room or take on a picnic. As you can see it all folds up to a compact size which is easily carried. Measurements: |
Very very rare Thorens "Excelda" Camera phone Phonograph player circa 1932Item #1394 SOLD This is an authentic Excelda portable gramophone, the portable phonograph of the 1930's that resembled the pocket cameras of that time (usually refereed to as a "Cameraphone"). It was made by Thorens, the famous Swiss manufacturer of gramophones and sold in the early 1930's. This model is in brown with metal, faux-lizard, crackly finish. The speed control are operated by a lever at the back of the gramophone. The 2.5" turntable is covered in brown felt, and the record is secured by screw that closes the case. The leather carrying handle is intact and in sturdy condition. The Dimensions are 2" high, 11" long, and 4 and 3/4" wide. This phonograph is absolutely authentic and complete with all parts, The condition is exceptional. It was kept in the red felt bag (as seen with moth holes), but because of this it is perfect original condition. A real collectors piece. 1930s European Portable Phonograph • Victor VictrolaItem #1187 SOLD Own a piece of authentic Art Deco audiophile history. This Victor Victrola was made circa 1930s by the Victor Talking Machine Company of Camden, New Jersey for European export. It has been recently serviced and is in wonderful working condition. This is a crank model and as such uses no electricity - just a teensy bit of elbow grease. Yes, it is assuredly one of the original green products. Energy conservation aside, this is a little beauty with a big sound and begs to be played and enjoyed. How romantic, to put an old 78RPM of Bing Crosby singing "When The Blue Of The Day Meets The Gold Of The Night" and having a slow dance with your sweetie right in your own living room.
